Below you will see some frequently asked questions about our converter. These may help solve any problems you may be having.


What is a hand history?
A hand history, commonly abbreviated as HH, is a text (or sometimes XML) file that is saved to your computer while playing online poker. This file shows your cards, all the actions on every street, and the end result.

I can't find my hand history!
While this varies from room to room, most rooms have a hand history option in the lobby. Make sure you have the software set to save hand history files onto your computer. For example, to enable this on PokerStars, go to Options - Instant Hand History Options in the lobby. Here you want to check Save My Hands History, choose where to save them, and keep them for a large amount of days (you can set this to 9999). A text file will now appear in the folder you chose for every cash session or tournament you play.

What is the purpose of the hand converter?
The hand converter, that is found on the home page of HandHistoryConverter.com, will take plain text hand history files from dozens of online poker rooms and change them into a much friendlier format. You can choose between various different poker forums, or html for blogs, and paste your new output for advice or just to show it off.

What exactly will the converter do to my hand history?

What poker rooms does it work with?

What does the results check box do?
If you check the box which says "Click to include results" the showdown results will be shown at the end of the output. This will be hidden in white. If you prefer to not include results, don't check the box and they will be omitted.

The room I'm trying to convert isn't on the list!
We are constantly trying to grow our list of supported rooms. If you are trying to convert a room that is not on the list, please see our Contact page to let us know and we will attempt to add support for it. It will greatly help if you can supply us with sample hand histories.

The converter won't work, or I'm receiving an error!
First, please make sure you are pasting only one hand history at a time, and the game and room are currently supported. If it is, make sure you are pasting the entire hand history. If you are sure you are doing everything correctly, please Contact us and we can look at the hand in question. It will be very helpful if you can include the hand in question and description of the problem.
