Cake Poker Hand History Features
To save hand histories to your hard drive, from the main lobby hit the "Options" button in the top right corner. On the "Game Files" tab, make sure the box is checked next to "Save my Hand History". Right below this option is the default folder location where the history will be saved on your hard drive. You can adjust this location to your preference by using the "Change Folder" option, and even easily access this location using the "Open Folder" button.
To access the hand history viewer while you are at a table, click on the button labeled "Last Hand" found in the upper left hand corner of the window. This will bring up a window with the details of the last hand played. There is also a "hand history" button under the "Info" tab on the chat window in the lower left hand corner of the screen that will bring up the same window. Once the hand history view is open, you will find some summary information at the top, including game type and pot size. The actual details of the hand are shown in a table format, with the players listed in a column on the left, and their cards and actions listed in separate columns leading off to the right. There is a column for preflop action, flop, turn, and river action, and a column for showdown that displays the winning player's hand. The hand number and date/time stamp are listed at the bottom, along with a check box for a four-color deck display instead of the traditional red and black.
At the top right there is a selections labeled "Previous" that allows you to scan backwards through the hands preceding the last hands. Once you start moving backwards through the hand history, a "Next" option will appear allowing you to move forward. There is also a button labeled "Past Hands" that will pop up another window with a scrollable list of all the previous hands at the table. This list shows the hand number, time stamp, pot size, and community cards. You can jump directly to the hand detail that you want by clicking on the hand number in this window.
Another nice feature of the hand history viewer is a button allowing you to "Create Shareable Webpage". Clicking on this button will open a browser window with the hand details on the web page, allowing you to copy the link and share it with your friends.
Cake Poker Overview
Established in the summer of 2006, Cake Poker is one of the newer poker sites around. Open to U.S. players, the site has experienced an impressive player base growth in recent months. Cake Poker offers Hold'em (FL, PL, and NL), Omaha Hi and Hi/Low, and 7-card Stud Hi and Hi/Lo.
While traffic has been improving, most of the action is currently centered around low to mid-stakes NL Hold'em but also seems fairly popular with the Omaha crowd. Stud cash games can be hard to find during the week. There is plenty of SNG action to be found, and lots of regularly scheduled multi-table tournaments with some impressive guarantees.
