Hand Histories can be accessed one of the two ways on Ladbrokes, the first being an instant viewer available on each table. Clicking on the small hyperlink in the bottom left of the window will bring up a graphical representation of the last hand, which mirrors almost exactly the standard table view. Large buttons enable to you to flick backwards and forwards through all the hands played on that table. The chat box is filled with a textual representation of the hand in question.

The second option is reached by navigating through 'Menu' --> 'My Account' --> ‘Hand History’. The window this calls up will allow you to view a list of hands from a specified number of days or recently played hands. Selecting a member of the list will cause a text version of the hand to appear in a lower box. In the bottom left, an ‘Export Hand History’ button allows you to save the selected hand to a .txt file. If you want to save more than one hand to the same .txt file then you need only select them together in the top box.

The downloadable 2D client is built on a Microgaming standard platform, but features a fantastic graphical interface to compliment the sturdy client design.

Ladbrokes are also one of the few online poker sites to offer a filly 3D client. The 300MB plus file will, once installed, allow you to create a custom poker player to represent you at the tables. Once in play your digital avatar can give off false tells and perform a range of other human-like actions. Another potentially groundbreaking featured offered by this client is the opportunity to audibly interact with your opponents. Voice over IP technology allows you to engage adds another layer of realism and another source of tells to the internet poker mix.

The player traffic on the Microgaming network is one of the best in the world, with around 2200 players on the site at peak times. Although this lags behind the likes of Poker Stars and Full Tilt, there are still likely to be plenty of players available at any one time. For some time Ladbrokes has been the site of choice for Scandinavian players. Their uber-aggressive style of play meant that tables on Ladbrokes were significantly looser than their competitors.
